Cory founded HJH Investments in 2014. He has a broker’s license in the state of Kansas and has been licensed in real estate for over 20 years. During his career, Cory has invested, counseled, managed, sold and purchased most facets of commercial real estate and understands what it takes to negotiate and close a property. Cory is an active investor in many of the properties and holds an ownership stake in all of them.
Jennifer has an academic background and more than 10 years of experience in accounting and finance. She partnered with HJH Investments in early 2017 and has been instrumental in integrating asset and investment management software solutions into our day-to-day operations. Jennifer serves as our in-house accountant and interfaces directly with our outside accounting firm. She is the direct liaison for all investor relations post-acquisition. She is responsible for maintaining, planning, and growing the financial health of the firm. Jennifer is an active investor in HJH properties and holds an ownership stake in many of them.
Karin joined the HJH team with 20 years of commercial real estate experience. As Regional Director of Property Management and Leasing, her role is to oversee property operations, third-party property managers, and drive occupancy through negotiating and executing new and renewal leasing transactions. She thrives on challenges and works diligently to understand local market conditions for the ongoing enhancement strategy for property leasing and operations. Karin earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and has an MBA from the University of Detroit-Mercy.
Kim joined the HJH team in 2021 with more than 17 years of experience in accounting, previously working as a senior accountant and in managerial roles for two prominent banks. She thrives on systems and processes, making her well-suited for her responsibilities in processing quarterly returns, CAM reconciliations, and budgets. Kim graduated Magna Cum Laude from Newman University, earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She also has an associate degree in baking and pastry and loves to bake in her free time.
Ashley comes to the commercial real estate world from the nonprofit sector, with more than 12 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, and public relations. She has a BA in communications with an emphasis in integrated marketing communications from Wichita State University. Ashley is responsible for all marketing activities at HJH, including the creation of marketing collateral for all properties, managing website and social media content, and overseeing the company’s marketing efforts.
As head of capital markets, Adrian is responsible for the firm’s financing activities, including debt and equity capital. He began his career at Wells Fargo Bank’s Special Situations Group and has since amassed a global track record in real estate, principal investing, and alternative asset categories (>$1 billion in debt/equity transactions). Adrian earned his MBA at Columbia Business School and his BSBA in the Honors Finance Program from the University of Florida, where he was designated as a Warrington Finance Scholar. He is actively engaged in several community, civic, and economic development organizations, having held several leadership positions.
Camryn is an essential part of the HJH team, as she assists our CEO with complex scheduling, time, and travel management, and coordinates the flow of information both internally and externally. She also excels at providing HJH with administrative and office support. Camryn completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and business administration at Wichita State University in 2022. During her collegiate years, Camryn gained team leadership and management experience through her role as a student-athlete in the WSU Track & Field and Cross Country programs.
With over 10 years of commercial real estate experience, including serving in a similar capacity for seven years at the largest commercial real estate brokerage in Wichita, Kansas, Dianna is well-suited for her role. She drives transactions from receipt of a signed contract to the closing on the property. In addition, she is the direct liaison to investors during the acquisition process, after which she passes them over to Jennifer Phister, our Controller.
Teanna joined the HJH team as general counsel with more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, 14 of which include practicing real estate law. She graduated from Oakland University with honors in May of 2004 and graduated from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, Cum Laude, in May of 2008. Teanna is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section and the Labor and Employment Law Section. Her specialties include drafting and negotiating documents for all phases of acquisitions and dispositions, as well as leasing and financing agreements. During her career, she has been heavily involved in key due diligence matters and has provided representation in commercial litigation.
With over 20 years of experience in the human resources field, Vicki brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as human resources advocate. Her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Newman University is complemented by continued education in employee development, employee relations, and employment law. Vicki is passionate about aligning the HR function with our mission and core values through the processes of talent acquisition, team building, and relationship and performance management.
John has been a licensed Realtor in the state of Kansas since 2009. He performs financial analysis for acquisitions and serves as the interface to lenders and outside counsel. Prior to his real estate career, John spent almost 30 years in the high-tech industry working primarily in project management for state-of-the-art storage solutions. He holds BS and MS degrees from Wichita State University and is an active investor in about half of the properties in the HJH portfolio.
John has been a licensed Realtor in the state of Kansas for seven years and is a co-founder of HJH Investments. John spends his time carefully pouring over commercial databases looking for just-on-the-market or off-market properties that fit the HJH criteria for success. John has a bachelor’s degree in music from Missouri Baptist University and is currently the music director at his church. John is actively invested in several properties and holds an ownership stake in all of them.
Whitney joined the HJH team with a background in marketing and leasing. Her previous experience comes from the non-profit sector, then the student housing industry. She graduated from Wichita State University in 2019 with a BA in communications with an emphasis in integrated marketing communication and a minor in graphic design. Whitney assists our Director of Marketing with all marketing efforts, such as creating marketing collateral for properties, email marketing, and social media.
Paula joined the HJH Investments team in December of 2019. She has a background in residential property management and also has 20 years of sales experience. In her role as Property Administrator, she handles the day-to-day operations, tenant relations, and administrative duties for all assets under management. Working alongside local property management teams, Paula ensures all assets are well maintained.
Gabby joined the HJH team in February of 2019 as an intern in our accounting department. In June of 2020, she accepted a permanent, full-time position as our Staff Accountant. In her role as Staff Accountant, she provides Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable support to the Controller, onboards new properties, and participates in financial oversight of managed properties. Gabby graduated from Newman University in 2020 at the top of her class with a BS in Accounting and a BBS in Finance. She was also the recipient of the Outstanding Accounting Student Award as nominated by her professors.
Alex joined the accounting team in January of 2021. As a Staff Accountant, his responsibilities include processing account payables and receivables, and financial oversight of managed properties. In addition, Alex applies his passions for real estate, investments, and passive income to the properties assigned to him, staying in constant communication with tenants to assure mutual success. In 2019, Alex received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting from Wichita State University’s Barton School of Business. A fun fact about Alex: he worked full-time as a landscaper/handyman at the Charles Koch family residences.
Ben Kogut is a referral partner for HJH Investments. He is an Austin, Texas-based commercial real estate broker with more than 15 years of experience with a passion for helping investors make wise decisions. Ben studied government and business at University of Texas and later earned an MBA from the Acton School of Business; he is also CCIM certified.
